Run Mercer VINE Arrest Check

After a Mercer County arrest, one name can land in several jails. VINELink Mercer County custody alerts help you keep track of where that person is held. The free service searches participating jails and prisons. It sends notice when custody changes. Mercer County often houses people out of county. So the record you find may name a different facility. It is not a full arrest report or court docket, and fresh bookings can take time to show up. Search with the best name details you have. Register for alerts, and confirm anything urgent with the jailer directly.

Mercer VINE Arrest Check Spans Facilities

Kentucky's Department of Corrections describes VINE as a free automated notification system. It serves victims and concerned citizens. It pulls from participating jail booking systems, prisons, and other custody databases. When someone is released, transferred, or escapes, it can send an alert.

The Mercer County Jailer's own page never states flatly that every Mercer arrest feeds into VINE. It names no separate Mercer SAVIN program. Mercer also boards inmates elsewhere. The list includes Jessamine, Woodford, Nelson, and LaRue counties. So a match may point to the destination jail rather than a Mercer one. Each transfer can also spawn a new record needing its own registration.

Mercer VINELink Result Fields

A VINE result shows custody status only. It is not a full criminal-history report, and it may not include a booking photo. Fields vary by participating system.

Result detailWhat it means
Name and offender IDHelps distinguish records and supports a more exact return search.
Custody statusIndicates whether the source currently reports the person in custody or changed status.
FacilityNames the reporting jail or prison, which may be outside Mercer County.
Record typeHelps separate a local jail match from a Kentucky DOC record.
Notification optionOpens registration for supported custody events.

Check the facility and update times before acting on a match. Similar names can yield several records, and a status can lag behind a booking, bond release, or transfer. Call the facility or the Mercer Jailer when timing matters.

Register for Mercer VINE Arrest Check

Kentucky VINE accepts phone numbers and email addresses, and more than one contact method at a time. Phone registration relies on a four-digit PIN. Entering that PIN confirms receipt and stops repeat calls. Keep it private but easy to recall.

  1. Choose “Notify Me” on the correct person and record.
  2. Select phone or email and enter the contact information requested by VINE.
  3. Create the four-digit PIN required for telephone notice.
  4. Review the record and event types before completing registration.
  5. Repeat registration for another relevant jail or DOC record when the same person has more than one.

Miss a phone alert and VINE leaves a message, then keeps calling over a 24-hour period until the PIN is entered. Calls can come day or night. The person being monitored never sees the registrant's contact information just because an alert exists.

Kentucky VINE Excludes Court Alerts

Kentucky DOC's 2025 VINE statistics material states that VINEcourts is gone. The line is now clear. VINE tracks custody events. Hearing notices and final case results live with the courts. A release alert will not explain why a charge ended, whether a hearing moved, or what the court decided. For the official local route, use the Mercer Judicial Center page.

Follow the case through the clerk or CourtNet once custody is established, and verify CourtNet snapshots with the clerk when a final result matters.

Arraignment is the first appearance where charges and release terms get addressed. Disposition is the case's later outcome. Kentucky's current VINE setup has no alert category for either. Need hearing dates? Use the court route. Need notice of movement or release? Keep the VINE registration active. Splitting those jobs keeps one system's silence from being read as a change in the other.

Verify Mercer Custody Alert Gaps

VINE is not a substitute for a destination jail roster. It also skips universal federal coverage. A brand-new local booking may not have synced yet. Someone held only on a federal U.S. Marshals matter may not appear, and ICE detention calls for a separate official locator. For a state-sentenced person, also check Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, known as KOOL.

Verify a missing result: check the official destination rosters, then call the Mercer Jailer or facility. For fresh intake, use Arrested Today as the same-day fallback path.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator helps most after federal sentencing or designation, not for a fresh county booking. The Marshals Service runs no comparable public national pretrial locator and rarely releases federal prisoner photos or histories. ICE's tool demands exact identifying details and offers no Mercer-wide feed.

Interpret Mercer Release Notifications

A release alert from Kentucky VINE tells you a custody event happened. Read it with care. It does not always mean the person walks free. Someone can leave the Mercer County jail yet land elsewhere. That may mean another county's custody, a state facility, or federal hands. A detainer can also hold a person past the expected release date. Watch for a transfer alert or a name dropping off a roster. In either case, confirm where the person went.

Custody status, the booking file, and the court case each move on its own clock. A person released from custody may vanish from a roster. The booking record stays on file with the custodian. Kentucky's county jailer schedule keeps an inmate file for five years after release, photograph included when one exists. That retention rule does not promise the record stays visible in VINE. So treat one alert as a moment. It is not a permanent record.

Save the offender ID. Note which facility supplied the match. If the person moves, run a fresh search and register against the receiving record too. When VINELink and a facility roster disagree, the facility itself is the tiebreaker. Ask it to confirm the current status and the time of the last data update. Bond release questions belong with the facility. So do transfer destinations.

Mercer County contracts out its jail housing. That makes duplicate or shifting records more common than a one-jail model would. A match at a local jail today and a DOC match next week can look like two people. In truth, they can mark two stages of the same custody. Register against every relevant record the official interface shows. Drop an old registration only after the current facility or status checks out. Otherwise you might mistake the end of one facility's reporting for the end of custody.

Note: For alert enrollment help with Kentucky VINE, the state lists 1-800-511-1670, plus 502-564-5061 and 877-687-6818 for editing or removing a registration. Those lines handle notifications, not booking-photo requests or court updates.
